10 Book Challenge Tag

My first book tag! I found this on the Book Nut, and it looked like a lot of fun.

THE RULES:
List 10 books that have stayed with you in some way.
Do not take more than a few minutes and do not think too hard.
They do not have to be the “right” books or great works of literature, just ones that have affected you in some way.
Paste these instructions and tag 10 friends.

A Book That Made Me Think:

The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur

So many of the lines just spoke to me, and I had to pause after each one to see if it applied to me

A Book That Surprised Me:

The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr

I hadn't seen it talked about anywhere, it was just on book outlet, but I ended up loving it in every way

A Book That Made Me Happy:

Sick Kids in Love by Hannah Moskowitz

When the main love interests don't die <333333

A Book That Made Me Feel Nostalgic:

Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow

I reread it for the second time, and just really missed who I was, but not in a bad or good way

A Book That I Have a Love/Hate Relationship with:

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I love the idea of it, but it wasn't great in practice. I pretend like I really liked it, but in reality I really didn't.

A Book That I Have Reread the Most:

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

'nuff said

A Book That Made Me Want to Travel:

Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

It made me want to go to Italy so, so badly. I mean, have you read it?!

A Book That Gave Me All the Feels:

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I cried. I smiled. I gasped. It was amazing.

A Book I Wish I Hadn't Read:

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

I'm sorry, but I really disliked this book, and couldn't even finish it.

So, yeah, that's the 10 book challenge tag! In total it took me 8 minutes and 42 seconds to complete. Give it a try, and, as always, feel free to leave a comment with a post request.

How to get free or cheap books

Hi everyone, today I'm going to be talking about how to get cheap (or free!) books. There are a couple of different ways of going about this, and I'm going to hop into a few of them.  1. The Library First, and foremost, my number one tip for getting free books is obviously the library. Library cards are almost always free, and it's a great way of getting free books The downside is that you only have a few weeks to read the books you get, and you don't get to keep them. On the other hand, if you've really been wanting to read a certain book but don't have the money at the moment, the library is a great choice. I know that some people don't prefer library books, but I personally love the library.  2. Libby Libby is an Overdrive app that links to your library card, and allows you to check out free audio or ebooks. Since it's linked to your library, you can't get every book in existence, but I've heard that it usually has a pretty good selection. It...

Book Haul (12/04/21)

Hey y'all! I went to Books-a-Million today, and picked up a few things, so I just thought I'd share.  Punk 57- Penelope Douglas I saw this book all over BookTok, and thought I'd give it a go. I don't usually go for books with multiple perspectives, but since it's only 2, I think I'll be able to handle it. I've never read anything with the pen pal trope before, so I'm really excited! A List of Cages- Robin Roe I haven't read a lot of books with ADHD rep, but I've been wanting to, so this seemed like a perfect book. I'm super interested in psychology, so I'm hoping this book will have a little bit of psych related stuff in it, but we'll see. It seems like it's going to be a really well written and beautiful story, so after a year of wanting to read it, I'm ready to see how it is.  Emergency Contact- Mary HK Choi If you know me, you know that I love books with mental health rep, and I've heard that not only is this boo...

YA Travel Book Recommendations

Hi everyone, and welcome to another post! Today we're going to be talking about books where travel is a central part of the plot. I love to travel, and as a result, I love reading about traveling. Does it make me want to go everywhere? Yes. Am I upset about it? No. Most (if not all) of these books fit into the young adult genre. In addition to the title and author I've included a brief description of each book. All of these books were at least 4 stars (in my opinion), so I hope you enjoy! This list isn't ranked at all, and I think all of these books were great. With all that being said, let's get into the books! The Astonishing Color of After by Emily XR Pan The story follows our main character, Leigh, following her mother's suicide. Leigh believes that her mother turned into a bird, and wants her to go to Taiwan to meet her grandparents. She goes to Taiwan, and tries to find her mother as the bird. The Astonishing Color of After is a beautiful story set in b...
